Why We Built Breakaway
Sports performance training changed the trajectory of athletes for decades — but for most families in the San Fernando Valley, access to that kind of training wasn’t easy to find. Breakaway Sports Performance changes that.
Located in the heart of the Valley, we built Breakaway to bring elite-level youth athlete development to the community — with certified coaches, a proven methodology, and a facility designed for real training.
We use the Parisi Youth Training System — a program with 30+ years of success and over one million athletes trained worldwide. It’s not a gimmick. It’s not a trend. It’s a science-backed, age-appropriate approach to building athletes from the ground up.
But the system is only as good as the people running it.

THE METHODOLOGY
The Parisi Speed School System
At Breakaway, we don’t improvise. Every session is built on the Parisi Youth Training System — a structured, research-backed methodology developed over 30 years and proven at every level of sport.
The five pillars of every Parisi training program:
- Linear Speed — Acceleration and top-end running mechanics. The foundation of every sport.
- Multi-Directional Speed — Agility, deceleration, and the ability to move in any direction with control.
- Strength — Age-appropriate resistance training for muscle development and injury prevention.
- Coordination — Movement patterns and body control that carry over to every sport.
- Confidence — The one thing you can’t buy and can’t fake. Our athletes earn it.
What Makes Breakaway Different
Certified Coaches Every athlete at Breakaway trains with a Parisi-certified performance coach — not a general fitness trainer. That certification means structured programming, proper technique, and age-appropriate progressions.
